Kinzig Design :: I approach each piece of jewelry as a small kinetic sculpture with a keen focus on detail.

The discovery of new techniques and materials remain a constant challenge. I am particularly attracted to oxidized metals and the warm, rich colors and surface textures that can be obtained through controlled processes and accidental circumstances.

The base metal is sterling silver blackened to a deep gray with the edges sanded back to silver.

The pieces are adorned with combinations of pearls, semi-precious stones and inlays. The mosaic inlays are created from patinated brass and copper that have been buried for days in wood chip mixture to obtain the desired texture and color.
